Meet Katie

Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering virtual therapy across Georgia. I offer a warm, judgment-free space where you or your child can feel heard, understood, and supported.

I work with children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship challenges, and the effects of difficult experiences. My approach draws on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness to help you understand your emotions, build healthy boundaries, and practice coping skills you can use in everyday life.

Together, we'll make room for what you're feeling while working toward the changes that matter to you, one manageable step at a time.

Your First Session

Starting therapy can feel nerve-wracking. Here's what to expect.

  1. We get to know each other

I'll ask what brought you here and what's felt hard lately. Not sure where to start? That's okay. I'll guide the conversation.

  2. We talk about what matters

Your challenges, the strengths you already have, and your goals, whether they're big, small, or still unclear.

  3. We decide next steps

It's a chance to see if we're a good fit. If you continue, we'll build a plan that feels right for you.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. Most insurance plans are accepted through Grow Therapy, and TRICARE through Telemynd. Private pay is $150 per session, and a few sliding-scale spots are available.

How do virtual sessions work?

We meet over secure video, so you can join from home on a phone, tablet, or computer. All you need is a private, quiet spot. Because I'm licensed in Georgia, you'll need to be in Georgia during our sessions.

What is DBT?

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a skills-based approach that helps people handle strong emotions. It teaches practical skills in four areas: mindfulness, getting through hard moments, managing emotions, and communicating needs in relationships.

How are parents involved in their child's therapy?

Parents are an important part of the process. We'll talk together at the start about your child's needs and goals, and I'll check in with you along the way while protecting the trust your child builds in sessions.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share stays private, with a few exceptions required by law, such as concerns about someone's safety. We'll go over this together in our first session.
